After attempting to return to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Sara encountered difficulties finding suitable childcare due to a lack of available spaces and the necessity for Welsh language proficiency.

With relevant qualifications and extensive childcare experience, she decided to establish Abergavenny's first Welsh language immersion childminding service.

Our unique offering not only provides a nurturing and educational environment but also ensures your child becomes fluent in Welsh from an early age.

Additionally, We offer flexible hours to accommodate busy schedules, personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs, and a safe, stimulating setting that promotes holistic development.

With a commitment to fostering a love of learning and cultural heritage, Sara's childminding service is the ideal choice for parents seeking high-quality, bilingual childcare.

Below are our prices. Please note: We accept the Childcare offer for Wales and are registered for Tax-Free Childcare. We do not accept flying start. We accept payment with invoice. Fees must be settled in advance.

During Term Time and weekdays: Provided we are not outside our ratios we may be able to take children on an hourly rate of £8 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours. Weekends are chargeable at £10 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours.

Sibling discounts and a Free Settling in session available for re-occurring, regular care.  


Holiday Club (Reception to year 8 only)

Our Holiday Care programme provides children from Reception to Year 8 with a fun, safe, and immersive Welsh-language experience during school breaks. Designed to engage children in a variety of creative and active pursuits, our programme offers a structured day filled with themed activities, group games, and plenty of opportunities for social interaction.

  • Operating Hours: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Rates: £40 per child per day, inclusive of meals, snacks, and activities.

Please note, we do not offer hourly care out of term time; any early collection is at parents’ discretion.


Weekend Care

Our weekend childcare programme provides flexible, engaging Welsh-language sessions for children in a safe and nurturing environment.

  • Sessions: Three-hour blocks starting from 8am, at £30 per session.
  • Flexible Booking: Choose from 1 to 3 sessions to create a schedule that suits your needs, for up to 9 hours of care.
  • Meals and Snacks Included: Each session includes meals and snacks depending on the time of day. Breakfast is served at 9am, lunch at 12pm, and dinner at 3pm.

Emergency / Same Day Care

We understand that unexpected situations often leave parents in urgent need of childcare, which is why we offer an emergency rate for same-day and evening care, where available. Our pricing structure is designed to provide flexible, reliable care when you need it most. All prices are inclusive of engaging activities, meals, and any additional resources provided during the day.

Wrap-around (Ysgol/Meithrin y fenni) is inclusive of our guaranteed availability policy. Times covered: 8-9am and 1pm-5pm. We extend an on-call care service at a fixed rate, offering you peace of mind that your child can be promptly collected from school, if necessary, be it for appointments or other unforeseen circumstances (excluding sicknesses listed in the sickness policy). Our service operates at a half-day rate, guaranteeing our availability to attend to your child's needs during the specified session times. This means we stand ready to assist your child from Open until Close prepared to accommodate any requirements they may have. Drop offs and pick-ups are included in this rate.  £35

Drop-Off and Collection

Parents are kindly asked to inform us in advance if they expect to arrive at a different time than the contracted drop-off for their child. This helps us prepare adequately for their arrival. Unexpected early arrivals may leave us unprepared to care for the child, while tardiness could require us to escort children to school or pre-school, preventing us from waiting for late arrivals. Flexibility in contracted hours can be discussed and adjusted as needed to accommodate changing schedules.
