Parents are kindly asked to inform us in advance if they expect to arrive at a different time than the contracted drop-off for their child. This helps us prepare adequately for their arrival. Unexpected early arrivals may leave us unprepared to care for the child, while tardiness could require us to escort children to school or pre-school, preventing us from waiting for late arrivals. Flexibility in contracted hours can be discussed and adjusted as needed to accommodate changing schedules.
Collection Protocol
To ensure the safety and security of all children, we will only release a child to adults authorised for collection. Parents are requested to provide us with a list of authorised individuals, along with any relevant descriptions or photographs for identification purposes. In emergency situations, a password system may be used, where individuals not on the authorised list can gain access by providing the designated password. Parents will endorse this system by signing a consent form and agreeing on a password of their choice. Upon collection, the designated adult must present identification and sign an emergency collection form.
Punctuality and Communication
Prompt collection at the contracted time is crucial to maintain the child's routine and prevent distress. While occasional delays may be unavoidable, they should be communicated in advance. In case of unforeseen delays, parents should promptly notify us with an estimated time of arrival. If lateness requires additional care, we will try to accommodate, coordinating with authorised adults if necessary, and reassuring the child of their parents' imminent arrival.
Cancellation Clause for Continual Lateness
In addition to the late collection policy outlined below, we reserve the right to cancel the care contract in cases of continual lateness, whether at drop-off, pick-up, or both. Consistent lateness can disrupt the childcare routine and impact the well-being of all children under our care. If lateness persists despite prior warnings and attempts to address the issue, we retain the right to terminate the care contract, considering the best interests of all parties involved and aiming to maintain the quality and consistency of care provided.
Late Collection Policy
In cases of prolonged lateness without prior communication, a late collection charge of £1 will be applied for every minute beyond the contracted pick-up time. If attempts to contact parents are unsuccessful, emergency numbers provided will be contacted. If all efforts fail, Social Services will be notified, and further action will be taken in accordance with their guidance.
