We have implemented robust procedures for managing visitors to our premises:
Verification of Identity:
We verify the identity of all visitors by requesting to see their ID badge or by making a phone call to confirm their identity. If verification cannot be obtained satisfactorily, entry to the property will be refused.
Visitor's Record
All visitors are required to sign the Visitor's Record, providing details such as the date and time of arrival, full name and address, purpose of visit, and time of departure, along with their signature.
Visitor Guidelines
Visitors are expected to adhere to specific guidelines, including storing personal belongings out of reach of children, keeping mobile phones pocketed or leaving the room to make or take calls, refraining from taking photos of children, and maintaining appropriate behaviour and language conducive to the children's well-being. Visitors are also encouraged to alert us if they have any concerns regarding the children.
Background Checks
Regular visitors undergo checks including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. The frequency and duration of visits are considered in determining the necessity of these checks.
Scheduled Work Visits
Workmen visits are arranged outside of childcare hours whenever possible to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of the children.
Reporting Building Work
Any building work lasting several weeks is reported to the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), and DBS checks are conducted as appropriate. Additionally, thorough risk assessments are conducted to ensure children are never left unsupervised during such activities.
Awareness of Policies
All visitors and workers on the premises are informed of the no-smoking, mobile phone usage, and camera policy to maintain a safe and secure environment for the children.
