At Daffodil WLC, we prioritise the welfare of your child, believing that a smooth and supportive transition period is key to their well-being. This policy outlines how we aim to work closely with both parents and children to ensure a positive settling-in process.
Building Relationships
Initially, we focus on establishing strong relationships with both you and your child by spending quality time together. This allows us to gain insight into your child's unique needs and preferences, including their routine, sleeping and eating patterns, allergies, dietary requirements, medical history, likes and dislikes, favourite activities, and any comfort objects or habits they may have. This thorough understanding enables us to tailor our care to best meet your child's individual needs.
Recognising Differences
We understand that every child is different, and some may require more time to adjust than others. We recognise that the transition period can be stressful for parents, and we are committed to working closely with you to alleviate any concerns and ensure your peace of mind. You are welcome to stay and observe our daily routines, familiarise yourself with the setting and house rules, and discuss any questions or worries you may have. Flexibility is key, and we are dedicated to accommodating the needs of both parents and children.
Open Communication
Throughout this process, communication is paramount. While we strive to create a nurturing environment for your child, we understand that you may wish to stay connected during the day. While phone calls may need to be brief due to our attention to the children's needs, we are more than happy to accommodate communication preferences, including text messages, to keep you informed and reassured.
Assessment and Collaboration
In the unlikely event that your child continues to experience distress after a month, and it becomes evident that our services are not meeting their needs, we may consider terminating the contract. However, this decision would be made collaboratively and with the best interests of the child at heart.
At Daffodil WLC, we are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where both parents and children feel valued and respected during the settling-in period.
