Our weekend childcare programme provides flexible, engaging Welsh-language sessions for children in a safe and nurturing environment.

- **Sessions**: Three-hour blocks starting from 9am, at £30 per session.
- **Flexible Booking**: Choose from 1 to 3 sessions to create a schedule that suits your needs, for up to 9 hours of care.
- **Meals and Snacks Included**: Each session includes meals and snacks depending on the time of day. Breakfast is served at 9am, lunch at 12pm, and dinner at 3pm.

Weekend Care Policy and Procedure

Daffodil Welsh Language Childcare is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching weekend programme where children can enjoy supervised activities while immersed in the Welsh language. Our weekend care policy outlines key guidelines to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of all children and to facilitate clear communication with parents.

Programme Overview
Objective: To provide a safe and engaging Welsh-language environment through fun, structured activities during weekend hours.
Availability: Available in 3-hour sessions, starting from 9:00 am. Parents may book 1 to 3 sessions per day for a flexible schedule.

 

Hours of Operation
Session Times:
- Session 1: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Session 2: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
- Session 3: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm


Drop-Off and Pick-Up: Parents should adhere to start and end times for their selected sessions. We do not provide hourly care, and fees apply for the full session regardless of pick-up time.

 

Fees and Payment Policy
Session Fee: £30 per 3-hour session, including meals and snacks.
Payment: Full payment is required at booking to reserve a spot for your child.
Cancellations and Refunds: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the booked session will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice are non-refundable.

 

Meals and Snacks
Meal Times:
- Breakfast: 9:00 am
- Lunch: 12:00 pm
- Dinner: 3:00 pm
- Dietary Requirements: Parents must inform staff of any allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of booking. We maintain a nut-free environment and make every effort to accommodate specific dietary needs.

 

Activities and Supervision

Programme Structure: Each session includes structured activities such as arts and crafts, games, storytelling, and other Welsh-language immersive activities.
Staff Supervision: All activities are supervised by trained and qualified staff, with child-to-staff ratios that meet or exceed regulatory requirements to ensure safety and individual attention.

 

Behavioural Expectations and Discipline

Code of Conduct: Children are expected to treat staff and peers with respect and kindness.
Disciplinary Actions: If a child exhibits inappropriate behaviour (e.g., aggression, bullying), staff will notify the parents. Persistent behavioural issues may result in suspension from the programme without a refund.

 

Health and Safety
Emergency Contact Information: Parents must provide current emergency contact details and disclose any relevant medical conditions upon booking.

First Aid: First-aid trained staff are present at all times.
Illness Policy: Children who show symptoms of illness, such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhoea, should remain at home and can return only after being symptom-free for at least 24 hours.

 

Parent Communication
Updates and Feedback: Parents will receive a brief summary of their child’s activities at the end of each session. Staff are available to answer any questions at drop-off or pick-up times.
Contacting Staff: Parents may contact staff during programme hours for urgent matters.

 

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedure
Drop-Off: Please arrive promptly at the start of your child’s session. This helps create a smooth transition into the activities.
Pick-Up: Parents are requested to arrive at the scheduled end time of their child’s session. ID may be required for any unfamiliar individuals picking up a child. Late collection will be charged at £1 per minute after the first 10 minutes.
Early Collection: If early collection is necessary, parents should inform staff in advance. However, full session fees apply.

 

Booking and Availability
Booking Policy: Spaces for weekend sessions are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Waitlist: If sessions are fully booked, parents may request to be placed on a waitlist and will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
